Hi, I’m Arpit Jalan, an engineer at Discourse. I’ve been fascinated by computers for as long as I can remember — from exploring different operating systems to building with open-source software.

I’m drawn to how software fits together beneath the surface — the trade-offs, abstractions, and decisions that shape how things feel and perform. I enjoy exploring operating systems, desktop environments, and developer tooling, with a particular affinity for Linux and open ecosystems.
